A Sneak Peek at the Tasting Room Renovation

It's been a while since we've shared an update, and I'm excited to finally pull back the curtain on what's been happening at the tasting room. As many of you know, we closed the doors late last year to begin a renovation, and things are really starting to come together.

When Cleo and I took over Bluebird Hill, we knew we were stepping into something special. Neil and Sue built this place from the ground up and poured years of care into every bottle. That legacy means a lot to us, and it's something we think about with every decision we make. If you've visited before, you know the view out toward the vineyard and the hills already does a lot of the heavy lifting. This renovation is about giving the inside a space that complements that view and matches the quality of the wines and the warmth of the community that Neil and Sue cultivated here.

What's New

Let me walk you through some of the biggest changes.

A proper bathroom. I know, I know, it sounds basic. But if you've visited us before, you know the situation. We're adding a dedicated restroom right inside the tasting room and we're making it feel like part of the experience. Warm tones, rich textures, and a vibe that says "yes, we care about the details." Here's a peek at the palette we're working with:

Bar seating. We're putting in a proper bar where you can pull up a stool, chat with whoever's pouring, and really take your time. This is something we've wanted from day one. Casual but intentional, where you can settle in with a flight and not feel rushed.

An electric fireplace. This one I'm especially excited about. Picture a rainy Willamette Valley afternoon, a cozy fire going, a glass of Pinot Noir in hand. It's going to completely change the feel of the space, especially when the cooler months roll around.

A Look at the Design

We've been working closely with our designers to make sure the new space feels warm, grounded, and true to the land. Neil and Sue created something really special with this property, and we want the tasting room to honor that while bringing in some fresh energy. Here's a sneak peek at the floor plan:

For the exterior, we're going with a dark, modern siding with clean glass elements. It's going to look great against the vineyard and the rolling hills behind us:

And here's the interior material palette. Natural stone, warm wood, and honest textures throughout. We wanted everything to feel real and grounded, the kind of space where the materials tell their own story:

When Can You Visit?

We're targeting the end of May to reopen, but renovations being renovations, we're not locking in a specific date just yet. As soon as we have a firm reopening date, we'll send out an update so you can be among the first to experience the new space.

In the meantime, our wines are still available online and we're still pouring at local events around the valley. We can't wait to welcome you back to the hill.

See you soon,
Kevin
