Celebrating Ten Years — Our Grand Reopening

Greetings Friends and Wine Lovers,

Sue and I are having a hard time believing it was ten years ago, almost to the day, that we first opened Bluebird Hill Cellars to the public. We're looking forward to the 'grand reopening' this weekend, and we plan to be there Friday and Saturday afternoons and early afternoon on Sunday — so we're encouraging old friends (and new friends) to come out and say hello, chat a bit, and enjoy our great lineup of mostly new-release wines!

A lot of things will be exactly the same (like great wines, and our wonderful venue and view!), and there will be new things: perhaps meeting new owner Kevin for the first time, and also our new tasting room manager, Garrett Horning. And, of course, the fabulous expansion and renovation of the tasting room areas!

Meet Garrett, Our New Tasting Room Manager

Garrett has spent the last decade in hospitality and beverage operations, including cocktail-focused experiences in New York City, leading bar, restaurant, and event programs built around great service, strong team culture, and memorable guest experiences. He is passionate about approachable wine and bringing people together through hospitality. Sue and I are excited, and he's excited to be a part of — and help tell — Bluebird's story as we continue to grow throughout Oregon and beyond.

Some Great New Wines to Try

  • Pinot Gris: Beautifully light and crisp — our last harvest at BBH this past fall.
  • Duology: It's back! Need we say more? Our Chardonnay/Viognier blend is made for warm summer days.
  • Chardonnay: We're now pouring two. Our flagship is light-bodied, unoaked, clean and crisp, and ready for summer. The reserve Chard is lightly oaked with a slightly creamy mouthfeel — a perfect companion to summer seafood dinners.
  • Rosé: Also from the 2025 harvest, this rosé of Pinot Noir has gorgeous aromas of flowers and fruit and a light, crisp taste on the palate.
  • Pinot Noir: We're now pouring 2022 and 2023 flagship Pinots. Both are lovely; the '22 is close to selling out. Our Barrel Select Reserve Pinot is one of our best Pinot bottlings ever — don't miss tasting this one!
  • Red Blend & Syrah: These bigger reds are luscious and great with your summer barbecues.
  • Birdhouse Port: Also back from a hiatus, this dessert wine is 30% Bing cherry, 70% Pinot Noir, and 100% yummy. (Try it with some chocolate or cheesecake!)

All wine is on sale this weekend — up to 30% off for cases, with wine club members getting another 10% discount stacked on top!

Hope to see you at Bluebird!

Best always,
Neil and Sue
